## Information From Website Visits

This website is hosted on Cloudflare. Delivering pages and protecting the site involves processing technical information such as your IP address, the page requested, browser information, and the time of the request. Hosting and security providers may keep technical logs to operate their services, investigate errors, and prevent abuse.

You do not need an account to read the articles. The website does not accept blog comments, and the free Website Builders’ Toolbox is available without an email signup.

## Email Messages

If you email me, I receive your email address and the information you choose to include in your message. I use that information to respond to your inquiry and handle any follow-up. Please do not send sensitive information that is not needed for your question.

My email service provider processes these messages so that I can receive and reply to them. I keep correspondence for as long as it is useful for the inquiry or necessary for business or legal obligations.

## Cookies And Analytics

I use Rilytics, based on the open-source Minilytics project, to understand which articles people read, where visits come from, and which links and buttons are useful. The tracking script and event endpoint are served through this website's own domain and sent to my Rilytics installation at rilytics.com.

Analytics records page addresses, referrers and campaign tags, browser and device information, approximate location, time spent on pages, outbound links, and selected actions such as opening the toolbox, clicking an affiliate link, sharing an article, or clicking an email link. Clicking an email link records the action, not the contents of your email. I do not use the visitor-identification feature to send your name or email address.

The tracker uses first-party cookies named `ml_vid` (up to one year) and `ml_sid` (a sliding 30-minute session) to recognize repeat visits and group activity into sessions. It also uses local storage to remember an analytics opt-out. Hosting and security services may process technical logs. The private administration area uses authentication cookies and does not run the public analytics scripts.
